Dedicated Turning Inserts for Stainless Steel Machining
Offering excellent plastic deformation resistance, GC2220 is a dedicated turning grade optimized for stainless steel machining in stable conditions. The Inveio™ coating provides GC2220 with an increased level of wear resistance and tool life to combat challenges such as high cutting forces and high temperatures.
The Steiner Metalworking application team can assist you with selecting the right inserts for your stainless-steel machining requirements and provide guidance on process improvements for higher yield rates and cost reductions.
GC2220 Best Suited For:
- Continuous to light interruptions
- Average to high cutting speeds
- Austenitic and duplex stainless steel
Get Predictability and Longer Time In Cut With Inveio™ Coating
Grade GC2220 has long and predictable tool life through the tightly packed, uni-directional crystals that create a strong barrier toward the cutting zone and chip. Less heat at the cutting zone means improved crater and flank wear resistance for a longer time in cut.
Combined with the substrate, the shape of the cutting edge and the post-treatment process, GC2220 is an excellent choice for ISO M machining.
