Make-Ready Rebates 

  • Rebates are available to upgrade the make-ready† electrical infrastructure for EV charging stations.
  • ComEd business and public sector customers may qualify for:
    • Up to $8,000* per port (maximum 10 ports per project)
    • Up to $1,000* per kW for Direct Current Fast Chargers (DCFCs) with a minimum of 50kW (maximum $500,000)

Eligibility Requirements

  • Submit applications within 90 days of project completion.
  • Projects completed between June 1, 2023, and February 15, 2024, have 90 days from February 15, 2024, to apply.
  • For the highest rebate, vehicles must be domiciled in or operate over 50% in a Select Community.*

Introducing ComEd’s EV Charger and Installation Rebate Program

Charging an electric vehicle (EV) efficiently is crucial for optimal performance. ComEd provides rebates, tools, and information to help you charge faster and smarter. Residential Select Customers* may qualify for a rebate of up to $3,750** for purchasing and installing a Level 2 smart charger at home, which charges much faster than a Level 1 charger. Enjoy the fuel savings and lower maintenance costs that come with EVs.

EV Charger and Installation Rebate 

Residential customers may qualify for a rebate of up to $3,750* for purchasing and installing a Level 2 smart charger at home. These chargers offer faster charging, scheduling, and energy tracking via a smartphone app. Rebates are available for chargers purchased and installed on or after February 1, 2024.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Rebates are available for WiFi-enabled Level 2 EV chargers purchased and installed on or after February 1, 2024.
  • Applications must be submitted within 90 days of installation.
  • Rebates cover EV chargers, installation, contractor labor, conduit, cables, fasteners, and electric panels.
  • Single-family and multi-family property tenants with a residential ComEd account qualify.
  • For commercial accounts, refer to the EV Make-Ready Rebate Program above.
  • Customers must enroll in a time-variant supply rate offered by ComEd or an Alternative Retail Electric Supplier and stay enrolled for at least 3 years.

Available for Select Customers* (Defined Below):

  • A Customer who domiciles in a low-income community and/or primarily serves in a low-income community. Domicile includes the location vehicles are permanently assigned, most frequently used, or dispatched from.
  • A Customer who domiciles in an Environmental Justice (“EJ”) community or a Restore, Reinvest, Renew (“R3”) community, collectively referred to as an Equity Investment Eligible Community (“EIEC”), and/or predominantly services in an EIEC. 
  • A Customer who demonstrates through attestation that over 50% of the driving done by the vehicle at issue is in a low-income community or EIECs.
