Steiner Electric Celebrates Its First Century In Business
Steiner Electric is proud to announce it has reached a major milestone that few companies achieve: 100 successful years of serving customers. Founded in 1916 by George S. Steiner, the Elk Grove, Illinois-based company is now run by George’s grandson, Rick Kerman, and employs 430 people. Today the third and fourth generation descendants of the founder are active in the business and continue to focus on Steiner’s core values while modernizing for the future.
Steiner Electric Named Illinois Large Family Business of The Year By Loyola University of Chicago, Quinlan School of Business
Steiner Electric has been recognized by Loyola University of Chicago’s Quinlan School of Business as its Illinois Large Family Business of the Year 2016. The Quinlan School rates local family-owned firms on business success, multi-generational involvement, contributions to industry and community, and innovative business practices and strategies. Independent judges select one winner in each of three business-size categories, large, medium and small, based on number of employees.
Steiner Electric Company honored with the 2014 Affiliated Distributor "Giving Back Award"
Steiner Electric was presented the Affiliated Distributors' (AD) Giving Back Award, during the AD National Meeting in Chicago. The "Spirit of Independence" awards banquet, recognizing those Distributors and Suppliers who have achieved outstanding performance during the previous calendar year. The Giving Back Award was created in 2010 to honor the many distributor and supplier community service, charitable and human interest projects throughout the industry.
